Espegard’s history starts in the middle of the 1980s in the municipality of Ål in Hallingdal, one of Norway’s beautiful valleys. Fresh air and pristine nature lend inspiration to outdoor life. Today, Espegard is headed by Rune Østgård, who has been with the company for 25 years. We are a proud and solid, traditional business with skilled and dedicated employees. We work every day to develop products that enhance quality of life, that emphasise togetherness, cookery and the savouring of life that can take place outdoors as well as indoors.
Most Norwegians are proud of Norwegian nature and appreciate all it has to offer. Leisure time is valuable and to be used outdoors with family and friends: in the forests, the mountains or by the sea. Throughout the summer’s long, bright nights, autumn’s gorgeous colours, winter’s white-clad days and spring’s rapidly-germinating foliage, time spent outdoors is sweet.
Espegard employees spend a lot of their time outdoors. We test our products in the right environment and draw inspiration for new ideas. Over 30 year’s focus on quality has left us with excellent experience and we always strive ahead in relation to product development and improvement. Our goal is to facilitate an easily accessible outdoor life for most people, whether they are eager leisure-time enthusiasts or not.
