A really good game sausage can be further upgraded with tasty toppings. Food that tastes extra good outdoors!
Do this:
- Place your favorite sausages firmly on the grill grate at a suitable distance from the heat. Sausages taste best if heated over embers for a longer period of time, not directly in the flames.
- While the sausages are cooking on the grill, place the cast iron skillet directly on the coals. Brown the pan generously with butter, add the sliced mushrooms and season with salt and pepper.
- Slowly sauté the finely chopped red onion with the mushrooms. The result is a delicious topping for the sausages. Kale can also be used as a crunchy garnish for your sausage meal!
- Just before the sausages are ready, brush the kale leaves with neutral cooking oil and season with salt and pepper.
- Place the leaves directly on the grill for a short while, and they will become crispy and nice.
Dressing with horseradish
Add sour cream to the desired amount of finely chopped garlic and season with sugar and lemon. Stir well! Add grated horseradish. Keep in mind that horseradish adds a lot of flavor over time, so add it to the sour cream just before serving.
In addition to the tasty topping, flatbread or a delicious sausage roll is perfect as an accompaniment. The finishing touch is raw, stir-fried lingonberries. A tasty meal!
